Swedish artist, musician, painter, speech and singing therapist and choirmaster Caroline af Ugglas finds relaxation at her summer cottage in Aland. She gives her personal view of Aland as artist for the My Aland stamp.
The My Aland stamp theme is a recurring theme offering celebrities with a connection to Aland an opportunity to illustrate their opinion of the Aland province and personal view of Aland. One hundred years ago on 10th April 1912 the RMS Titanic left Southampton, England on her maiden voyage bound for New York in the USA. Tragically the events of the next few days became one of the most fascinating and enduring stories of all time.
This was no ordinary passenger liner. Named Titanic because she was the largest passenger vessel in history she was considered by many to be ‘unsinkable’. She was the epitome of luxury and one of the marvels of the modern world. Her passengers ranged from some of the world’s wealthiest to the poorest including more than a thousand emigrants, travelling to the new world in the hope of better opportunities for themselves and their families.

Russian Post’s EUROPA stamp entry was named the winner of the 2012 PostEurop EUROPA Jury Prize Competition which was held at the famous Parc Floral de Paris in conjunction with the Planet Timbres Exhibition, where an expert jury met and voted through closed ballot.

Australia Post Managing Director and CEO Ahmed Fahour announced the release of a charity stamp sheetlet to raise funds for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Centre – a new cancer research and treatment centre at the Austin Hospital, Melbourne.
