On this occasion, the Principality of Monaco and Belgium will jointly issue a stamp whose visual is inspired by Cabaret au bord de la rivière by the Flemish painter Jan Brueghel. This work is currently at the Palace of Monaco.

The Swiss boat PlanetSolar left Monaco in September 2010 to sail around the world, and will end its journey in the Principality in spring 2012. PlanetSolar is propelled by a silent, non-polluting electric motor powered exclusively by solar energy, and is the first “solar boat” to accomplish this feat.
