The Stamp Issuing Office of the Principality of Monaco will issue the Prefranked Stamp in August

This prefranked stamp replaces the one that was issued in 2007. It is designed for companies under contract with the Monaco Postal Service and is only for use for letters posted to France and weighing less than 35 g. The stamp depicts the John Dory (Zeus faber), a deep-sea fish that lives mainly in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Oceans.

The Grand Fair (Grande Bourse) Stamp will be available on the 16th August

The next Grand Fair will be held on Sunday, 2nd October 2011 in Monaco. It is organised by the Monaco Numismatic Association, the Monaco Association of Postcard Collectors and the Monaco Philatelic Union. This biennial event attracts international dealers in the fields of numismatics, philately, postcard collecting and book collecting.

Monte Carlo Golf club featured on Monaco stamps

The Monte-Carlo Golf Club was established in 1911 and remodelled in 1983. It overlooks the Principality from a height of 900 m. The 18-hole course offers a layout with many different facets, on both the aesthetic and technical levels.

Monaco celebrates its own Royal Wedding with stamps

On the occasion of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco’ marriage to Miss Charlene Wittstock, the Stamp Issuing Office of Monaco will issue four postage-stamps on July 1st 2011, included in the philatelic program of the 2nd Part 2011. These issues are available in 4 colors corresponding to the postal tariff used for a letter less than 20 gr: Economy-rate (€0.55), to France (€0.60), to EEC (€0.77) and the rest of the world (€0.89)
Additional to the 4 stamps, there is a block of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco’ marriage to Miss Charlene Wittstock that is now on sale at the Stamp Issuing Office of Monaco only, included in the philatelic program during the 2nd Part 2011. (read more)

The Palace Guards Stamp Issue by Monaco Post

The Stamp Issuing Office of the Principality of Monaco will issue on July 18, 2011, The Palace Guards Stamp Issue
The Compagnie des Carabiniers du Prince was formed in 1917 to protect the Palace and other royal residences, to provide security for the Sovereign Prince and his family and perform ceremonial and civic duties. The Guard, whose motto is “Honour – Loyalty – Devotion to duty”, is composed of 100 trained French military men.

Monaco Post Kids Design Contest

The Stamp Issuing Office of Monaco has organised a design contest for kids going to junior school. The theme was “environment and ecology in Monaco”. The stamp represents the design of the contest winner.

New Gecko and Flower issues released by Monaco Post

On the 20th April 2011, Monaco Post will be issuing there latest set of stamps which depict a Gecko and a herbaceous perennial plant.

2,30€ – Gecko (Tarentola Mauritanica)
The Tarentola mauritanica, commonly referred to as the Wall Gecko, is a nocturnal arboreal species found in the coastal Mediterranean region. It appreciates stony ground and scrubland and can often be found climbing walls, particularly at night near light sources to hunt nocturnal insects.

3,55€ (1,75€ + 1,80€) – Former Fiefs of the Grimaldis of Monaco in Provence
This block is the latest in the series that began in 2010 devoted to the fiefs of the Grimaldi family in the Kingdom of France. The signing of the treaty of Péronne in 1641 by King Louis XIII and Prince Honoré II ended Spanish protectorate in exchange for Monaco. In return, as compensation for the loss of his Spanish territories, Louis XIII granted four fiefs to Honoré II that included Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and Les Baux, made into a French marquisate and offered to Hercule, son of Honoré II.
