New Monaco stamp issue on May 26, 2010

Last week from the 6th to 10th June 2010, the 50th Monte-Carlo Television Festival took place at the Grimaldi Forum. Launched in 1961 by Prince Rainier III, the Festival has been presided over by H.S.H. Prince Albert II since 1988. Each year the best television programmes are awarded with the Golden Nymph. A styamp has been issued to mark the 2010 festival by Monaco Post

    Four new stamps by Monaco

    On the 1st July Monaco will be issuing four new stamps. In their customary elegant style, the stamps will commemorate important events as follows; 

    50th ANNIVERSARY OF THE MARITIME POLICE OF MONACO

    The Maritime and Airport Police Division (D.P.M.A.- Division de Police Maritime et Aéroportuaire) was created by Sovereign Order of 16 August 1960. The D.P.M.A. today has about forty civil servants. The stamp illustrates the vessels successively assigned to the Division: the launch “Grace Patricia”, in service from 1961 to 1970, and the current launch “Vigilante” of 18 metres in length (read more)

    Mother Theresa honoured by Monaco

    On the 29th April 2010, Monaco will issue a set of stamps to commemorate the 100th Birthday of Mother Theresa.

    Born in 1910 in Skopje (currently the Republic of Macedonia) and deceased in 1997 in Calcutta, Mother Teresa dedicated her life to the poor, the sick, the ignored and the dying in India, (read more)

    Rolex Masters in Monte Carlo

    MONTE CARLO ROLEX MASTERS

    The Monte Carlo Rolex Masters tennis tournament will be held from April 10 to 18, 2010 in the prestigious setting of the Monte-Carlo Country Club.

    The expansion of the central court’s capacity in 2009 led to a new record for attendance (124,000 spectators). Will Rafael Nadal win the season’s first major clay-court tournament for the 6th year in a row? (read more)

    Monaco scores a goal

    Although lovely tiny state of Monaco situated in a privilage position in the Med has not qualified for the World Cup this year, it has anyway issued a nice pair of stamps to mark the occasion.  As is now customary with stamps from Monaco, the designs are classic but stylish and illustrations have been specifically produced for the stamp artworks.     Grace Kelly, the real Queen of Hollywood

    The stamps issued to commemorate the Princess of Monaco 80th Birthday were issued late last year but are so stunning that they deserve a place on our new site.
    Issued by Monaco, the stamps are designed in monochrome and feature the Princess in her full splendour shorlty after receiving her Oscar. (read more)

    International Dog Show

    Under the presidency of HSH Princess Antoinette, the International Dog Show is scheduled for April 9 and 10. This year, the Special Show is dedicated to the Australian Shepherd breed. The dog on the stamp is named Crystal Blue Velvet.
