In June, Magyar Posta is publishing two new stamps on the subject of rail transport. On the 50thanniversary of their entry into service, Hungarian State Railways’ V43 Szili electric locomotive and M61 “Nohab” diesel-electric locomotive have appeared on stamps.

The subject of this joint stamp issue of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania is railway bridges. The most outstanding of the 440 railway bridges built in the first period of Estonian independence are reproduced on the stamp, on the first day cover and the cancellation.

Everything on the rails! VR group, Finland’s state railways is celebrating its 150 years on the rail. The stamp booklet is issued in the honour of the jubilee year: the history is told briefly from the late steam locomotive till the newest Allegro trains, which run from Helsinki to St. Petersburg. The form of the stamps describes the speed – of the trains and the development of the company!
