PREVIEW the Isle of man Christmas stamps
VN:F [1.9.1_1087]
Isle of Man has presented a set of six stamps featuring local snow scenes which mark the unusual, disruptive but beautiful weather of winter this year on the Isle of Man.
These outstanding images were chosen from an open submission of the work of local photographers and our selection illustrates something of the wide range of scenic opportunities available to the visual artist on the Island.
Combining expert weather analysis and local anecdote, the issue text places the snowfall in context, while the photographers share their experiences of capturing the moment.
‘Let it Snow’ will be the main postal issue for Christmas and is presented in a new smaller stamp format for 2010 and in sheets of 50 stamps

Wartime internment Camps of the Isle of Man
VN:F [1.9.1_1087]
Isle of Man presents the first of a landmark series of stamp issues focussing on the wartime Internment Camps of the Isle of Man.
Their first issue ‘Art History’ concentrates on the fortuitous coming together of European artists who were interned on the Island during the Second World War. Known as ‘His Majesty’s Most Loyal Enemy Aliens,’ these foreign nationals were separated from society rather than imprisoned and this unique concentration of talent in a handful of Manx guesthouses yielded a remarkable range of artwork that forms the basis of our stamp issue. PREVIEW- (History of Isle of Man Coins & IOM Railways and Tramways

IOM Coins Tercentenary
The history of coins on the Island dates back 300 years to when the first official Manx coins were cast in 1709 and became legal tender by an Act of Tynwald on 24th June 1710.
They were cast in moulds, probably at Castle Rushen in Castletown, and the reverse side bore the family crest of James Stanley, 10th Earl of Derby. On the obverse is the familiar Manx triskeles surrounded by the old Latin spelling of the motto QVOCVNQVE GESSERIS STABIT, which translates as ‘Withersoever (which ever way) you throw it, it will stand’.
