The Bahamas-60th Anniversary of The Coronation of HM Queen Elizabeth II

Queen Elizabeth II was crowned in Westminster Abbey on 2nd June 1953 and is recognized as Sovereign in the Bahamas, although she is not involved in the day-to-day business of The Bahamas’ Government, she continues to play important ceremonial and symbolic roles.

The Bahamas – 50th Anniversary of Female Suffrage – Stamp Issue

New Diamond Jubilee and Visit of Prince Harry – Stamp Issue

Her Majesty became Head of the Commonwealth and Queen in 1952 ahead of her Coronation in Westminster Abbey on June 2nd 1953. During her 60 year reign she has become the most widely travelled Head of State in world history.
As a constitutional monarch, The Queen, by convention, is not involved in the day-to-day business of The Bahamas’ Government, but as Sovereign she continues to play important ceremonial and symbolic roles. The Queen’s relationship to The Bahamas is unique. In all her duties, she speaks and acts as Queen of The Bahamas, and not as Queen of the United Kingdom.

The Bahamas – WWF Caribbean Flamingo- Stamp issue

This stamp issue, produced in association with World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), illustrates the National Bird of the Bahamas.
Long ago, these beautiful birds were found all over the Bahamas, but they were killed for food and sport and taken away on passing ships on which they died. Now they are a protected species and watched over by the Society for the Protection of the Flamingo in The Bahamas through the Bahamas National Trust, a statutory body set up in 1959.

Christmas is a time to reach out to family and friends with messages of love and friendship and of course to celebrate and marvel at the many wonders of that first holy night.
Heavenly angels, messengers and guardian angels, are mentioned throughout the scriptures but especially so in the story of the Nativity. The Bahamas – 150th Anniversary the Establishment of the Anglican Diocese and City of Nassau Stamp Issue

Christ Church Cathedral (15c stamp) is the “Mother Church” of the Anglican/Episcopal Diocese of The Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands. The word ‘Anglican’ denotes that this church was originally the Church of England which came to the region during the colonial expansion and that this church is the same as the “Episcopal Church” in the United States of America. The Turks and Caicos Islands, though politically separate, are a part of this Diocese.

The Bahamas – Royal Wedding

It was on the 16th November 2010 following a great deal of public speculation that an announcement was made by Clarence House confirming that Prince William, oldest son of Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales had become engaged to his long time girl friend Miss Catherine Middleton.
William and Catherine were both 28 years old when the announcement was made and met whilst students at the University of St Andrews. Until the announcement, Catherine, a Fine Arts Graduate worked for her parents company whilst in 2010 William graduated as a Helicopter Pilot. As Flight Lieutenant Wales he has joined RAF Search and Rescue which celebrates its 70th Anniversary in 2011 and will co-pilot Sea King helicopters as part of a four-man crew based at RAF Valley in Anglesey on the north-west coast of Wales.
As second in line to the British Throne and eldest son of Prince Charles and the late Diana, Princess of Wales this wedding has attracted significant interest throughout the world. To add to the Fairy Tale Romance, the engagement took place in the Kenya, where his grandmother was staying on the day that she became Queen whilst William gave Catherine the engagement ring first given by his father to Diana.
