Avicenna (Abu ‘Al? al-Husayn ibn ‘Abd All?h ibn S?n?) was a Muslim philosopher, scientist and physician who was born in Afshana near Bukhara, now Uzbekistan, in 980, during the Persian Samanid dynasty.
