On August 22, 2013, An Post issued three stamps to commemorate the centenary of the General Lockout.
The General Lockout was a major conflict between unskilled workers seeking better pay and the right to join a trade union, and their employers, who saw unions as a threat to the status quo.

An Post issued a further eight stamps for its Irish Animals and Marine Life definitive series, illustrating Ireland’s biodiversity from the seabed to the mountain top. Biodiversity is an all-encompassing term used to describe the variety of all life and natural processes on Earth.

Ireland releases a stamp issue dedicated to ‘The Port of Cork’

The history of the port dates back to 1813, when the Cork Harbour Commissioners were established. They remained in existence until 1997, when responsibility transferred to the Port of Cork Company, a commercial semi state company.
