These stamps continue the Australian Antarctic Territory (AAT) Landscapes series which began with the iceberg issue in 2011. The mountains and mountain ranges featured reveal the beauty and grandeur of the landscape.
Antarctica is the highest continent on earth and Mt McClintock, in the eastern sector of the AAT is its highest mountain. Although elevations in excess of 4,000 metres exist in the western sector of the AAT, these are ice domes and generally not considered mountains, but the definition is frequently debated.

150 years of Swiss Alpine Club!

The Swiss Alpine Club (SAC) was founded at Olten railway station on 19 April 1863 by 35 men from Aarau, Basel, Berne, Buochs, Glarus, Lucerne, Olten, St. Gallen and Zurich in response to an appeal made by Rudolf Theodor Simler from Zurich.

Mountains – Stamp Issue

A chain of alpine summits, amongst the highest mountains in the British territories, these are the icy jewels in the crown with unclimbed peaks that have been unattainable for so long. There are mountains that might take a week to climb from the shore and sometimes rebuff much longer efforts with the foulest weather and fierce storms that can lend fear and despondency into the very soul of even the most determined mountaineers.

Joint Issue Israel Nepal – Stamp Issue

Israel and Nepal established full diplomatic relations in 1960. The Prime Ministers at the time were David Ben Gurion of Israel and B.P. Koirala of Nepal. Nepal was among the first Asian countries to establish relations with Israel and one of the only bold nations that did not support the 1975 United Nations resolution equating Zionism with racism.
