Birds of a feather flock together in Australia Post’s new stamp issue

Australia Post features Australian waterbirds on a new stamp issue illustrated by renowned wildlife artist Christopher Pope. This stamp issue will be released on 6 March 2012.
The issue comprises two domestic rate (60c) stamps, depicting the Radjah Shelduck and the Pink-eared Duck, and two international rate stamps ($1.65 and $2.35) featuring the Australian Shelduck and the Plumed Whistling-Duck.

Australia Post honours AFL, NRL, football and rugby union legends

Football champions Gary Ablett Junior, Mark Schwarzer, Billy Slater and David Pocock will take on legendary status by appearing on postage stamps released for Australia Day.
All-time legends Ron Barassi, Joe Marston, John Raper and David Campese will also be immortalised on the 2012 Australia Post Australian Legends stamp issue, which recognises Australia’s four dominant football codes – Australian rules, football, rugby union and rugby league. (read more)

Australia Post has produced its Special Occasions stamp series for well over a decade, creating stamp designs for use with greeting cards and similar correspondence. This new issue in the series focuses on some of the personal events that mark our everyday lives – occasions such as a marriage, birthday, anniversary or arrival of a newborn.
