A NEW set of stamps to commemorate the inaugural Youth Olympic Games (YOG) will be launched on August 14th by Singapore Post
This stamp issue, to be launched by the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee jointly with Singapore Post, is the third in a series to mark the start of YOG.
The stamps come in a set of four designs of the Singapore 2010 Mascots, Lyo and Merly, in poses featuring the Culture and Education Programme and Singapore 2010 sports.
The first two designs highlight the World Culture Village and Island Adventure formats of CEP. Through these two activities, athletes will learn about diverse cultures, teamwork and leadership.
The other two designs feature the Singapore 2010 mascots in the sports of Aquatics – Swimming, and Basketball respectively.
The four stamps are valued at first local rates of 26 cents, 65 cents, $1.10 and $2 respectively.
