On 11 October 2012, the United Nations Postal Administration will issue 18 commemorative stamps in denominations of US$ 0.45, CHF 0.85 and € 0.70 in a mini-sheet format of six stamps each on the theme “Indigenous People”. This is the third in a series of stamps on Indigenous People, which were painted by the artist Stephen Bennett (USA).

The theme for this year’s Europa stamp is ”Visit Denmark”. Casper sejersen took the photograph on which the motif is based. the stamp is designed by post Danmark and produced in offset. The stamp depicts Pierrot pedalling away on his “Christiania bike” in the middle of rush hour, with Harlequin sitting in the box at the front.

Journalist by calling and politician by conviction, Manuel de Brito Camacho, minister for public works of the provisional government of the 1st Republic, was born in Monte de Mesas, on 12 February 1862, and went to high school in Beja, before enrolling in a Medicine course, at the Escola Médico-Cirúrgica, in Lisbon. 
In 1885 he began attending the Republican Party congresses and in 1906 he founded the A Lucta periodical, the first propaganda tool of the Republic.

A set of special stamps on the theme of “Hong Kong Museums Collection – Hong Kong Cultural and Historical Series” will be released for sale with associated philatelic products on 6 December 2011 (Tuesday).

Hong Kong enjoys a vast cultural landscape, boasting museums of various kinds with a rich array of magnificent exhibits. Hongkong Post issued its first set of “Hong Kong Museums Collection” special stamps in 2009, with the theme of Chinese calligraphy and painting. The second set on Hong Kong’s culture and history is now released to present treasures from the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, the Hong Kong Museum of History, the Hong Kong Museum of Art, and the Dr. & Mrs. Hung Hin Shiu Museum of Chinese Medicine at Hong Kong Baptist University. This set of six stamps showcases six traditional articles, taking you on a trip down memory lane to savour a taste of life back then.  (read more)
