The design of the stamp with a face value of HUF 290 is a graphic composition referring to a language family branching from a single stem. The first day cover for the stamp bears the name of the congress in each language belonging to the Finno-Ugric language family and in English.

Teddy Kollek, Mayor of Jerusalem – Stamp Issue

Teddy Kollek is well known in Israel and around the world as the great builder of modern-day Jerusalem. As a follower of Herzl, the father of modern political Zionism, Kollek turned Jerusalem into an international center of culture that carries a message of peace and tolerance to the world. Kollek grew up in Vienna. He was active in the Zionist youth movement “Blau-Weiss” where he met his future wife Tamar Schwarz.

Tommy Douglas “The Greatest Canadian” – Stamp Issue

Thid issye honours Tommy Douglas, the father of universal medicare in Canada. The stamp marks the 50th anniversary of the passing of Saskatchewan’s 1962 Medical Care Insurance Act.
Tommy Douglas was born in Scotland in 1904 and came to Canada with his family in 1910 and settled in Winnipeg. Growing up poor, he developed an infection that would have cost him his leg had his father not met a generous surgeon who agreed to treat Tommy for free, provided his students could observe. Through this experience, he realized the need for all to have access to medical care.

Difference Makers – Stamp Issue

This issue honours four outstanding and well-known Canadians in this new stamp series, featuring images of Rick Hansen, Michael J. Fox, Sheila Watt-Cloutier and Louise Arbour.
According to stamp design manager Alain Leduc, the unusual approach to portraiture has deeper meanings. The stamps, designed by Montreal’s Paprika Design, show intimate close-ups of each of the four Difference Makers, created with a strategically-placed series of small dots. This unique form of digital pointillism carries with it a subtle symbolism—the dots coming together to create a view of the whole in the same way that each of these individuals employs a range of experience, knowledge, skills and talents to get the results they seek.
