Lions Club 50th Ann. stamp
Lions Clubs International is the largest service organisation in the world. Its main service activities are: teaching children basic skills for the future and helping the elderly; reducing blindness caused by diabetes; setting up projects to protect the hearing of newborn infants; fighting pollution; improving international relations; providing aid in case of disasters.
Even the service Club of San Marino has worked for its community over the past 50 years, intervening in different areas and distributing the funds collected from its annual “service”. The main “service” during the social year 2008-2009 was assigned to Father Marcellino, a fellow citizen of San Marino who has worked for many years in a Congo mission. The two stamps, of € 0,36 and 0,60, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the San Marino Lions Club, depict respectively, a colour photograph of San Marino seen from the east and a zenithal aerial photo of the City of San Marino.
Each stamp carries a logo of the 50th anniversary of the San Marino Lions Club, the captions “LIONS CLUB SAN MARINO UNDISTRICTED 1960-2010”, the values, the printing institute, the year of issue and the name of the designer “B&AR Ph. C. Mularoni”.
