Amazing Stamp for retreating glaciers by the Swiss Post

As part of an international campaign, the current issue includes a stamp with the motto “Preserve the glaciers”.

Featuring the Morteratsch glacier in Canton Graubünden, this stamp has been issued to highlight the damaging effect that rising temperatures are having on these great sheets of ice.

Using lines and special colouring, the one-franc stamp displays the extent to which this particular glacier is disappearing. By tilting the stamp, the glacier can be seen as it was 150 years ago or as it is now.
