On the 14th January 2011, Gibraltar will release a magnificent set of 8 stamps plus a miniature sheet commemorating the Anniversary of the Royal British Legion. The stamps are official licensed products of the British Legion and have been spectacularly designed by world class designer Stephen Perera who during his professional design career has produced stamps for several European countries including Vatican and Malta plus more than 50 Gibraltar stamp issues in the last two decades!  

Each of the 8 stamps for this issue features one of the Wars in which the Royal British Legion has been helping a hand to those in need within the Poppy which is the most recognisable symbol for War Veterans. The Poppy is also the Official logo of the (read more)

Isle of Man present its firt  issue ‘Art History’ that concentrates on the fortuitous coming together of European artists who were interned on the Island during the Second World War.

Known as ‘His Majesty’s Most Loyal Enemy Aliens,’ these foreign nationals were separated from society, rather than imprisoned, and this unique concentration of talent in a handful of Manx guesthouses yielded a remarkable range of artwork that forms the basis of our stamp issue.

The Gibraltar stamp website has put on sale a limited number of the complete collection of Warships souvenir sheets 

The Gibraltar Warships stamp series ran from 1993 to 1997 and comprised of one miniature per year featuring 4 warships, some of them legends of the Royal Navy, US Navy, French Navy and even the Polish Navy, that have visited or been linked with the Gibraltar Royal Navy Base throughout its long and auspicious history.

The 1993 sheet features: HMS Hood, USS Gleaves, HMS Ark Royal and HMAS Waterhen
The 1994 sheet features: HMS Penelope, HMS Warspite, USS McLanahan and HNLMS Isaac Sweers
