Endangered Species 2012- Stamp issue

On 19 April 2012, the United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) will issue a set of 12 stamps depicting endangered species. These will be the twentieth set of stamps in UNPA’s multi-year series Endangered Species. The series was launched on 3 March 1993 to highlight the need for the protection of endangered species throughout the world.

The Bothnian Sea NationalPark – 1st class stamp, Stamp issue

The unique and constantly changing nature is the important feature in the Bothnian Sea National Park, 98% of the National Park is under water. The park’s importance in protecting the submarine nature is particularly great. Southern and northern species meet in the area, which makes it even more significant for observing the effects of climate change.

RAF Squadrons- Stamp issue

2012 Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee- Stamp issue

The 60th anniversary of a monarch’s accession is known as a ‘Diamond Jubilee’, and it is certainly an occasion worth celebrating. Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee is only the second in the past 1,000 years of New Zealand and British history. The first was Queen Victoria’s in 1897. Queen Elizabeth II’s coincided with Waitangi Day on 6 February 2012.

The UN General Assembly adopted a Resolution agreeing to hold the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development in 2012. Also referred to as ‘Rio+20′ or Earth Summit 20, the conference will take place in Rio de Janeiro Brazil on 20-22 June 2012 to mark the 20th anniversary of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development , in Rio de Janeiro, and the 10th anniversary of the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg.
