Vote for the most beautiful stamp to win €6000

You can now vote for the most beautiful SEPAC stamp and, at the same time, take part in the draw for a €6000 prize! The competition runs from 6 May to 30 October 2010 on the SEPAC website “Small European Postal Administrations”. Votes may be cast on the SEPAC web site or at the exhibitions in which the SEPAC members take part throughout the world.

SEPAC has according to its own website 13 members the Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Greenland, Guernsey, Iceland, Isle of Man, Jersey, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Malta, Monaco, San Marino and Åland. The Sepac stamps aim to highlight the history, nature and culture of the member countries. (read more)

Britain’s rarest stamp is now on offer

All those lucky enough to be able to attend the 2010 London World Stamp Show will have the wonderful opportunity to view on display an example of the Edward VII 6d. purple overprinted I.I Official. This magnificent stamp will be on display at the Gibbons stand (No 79) so make sure to pay them a visit.

As you probably already knew, the stamp was issued on the 14th March 1904 and that was coincidentally the day that the order came to immediately withdrw all offiials from use thus making this stamp the rarest of all British Stamps. (read more)

Inter-School Stamp Exhibits Competition

Hong Post must be applauded for promoting stamps at schools in previous years but their new initiative of organising a school stamp exhibit competition goes even further and in a way guarantees the future of philatelic competition in Asia and hopefully worldwide.

Hongkong Post today (May 3) announced that the exhibition of the winners and entries of the 11th Inter-School Stamp Exhibits Competition will be held at Sky Dome Atrium, Discovery Park, Tsuen Wan, from May 14 to 16. (read more)

JOBURG 2010 World Stamp Expo

South Africa will be holding their third International stamp exhibition from the 27th to 31st October 2010. It will be held in the Sandton International Convention Centre, which is located in the heart of a mega shopping mall in Johannesburg.

Spain celebrates the preseidency of the EU

Portugal World Stamp Show will promote phiately to children

Portugal gets ready for the 2010 World Expo

Only three major International Philatelic Exhibitions have taken place in Portugal since 1910, the year in which the Republic was established: PORTUGAL 1953; PORTUGAL 1998; and LUBRAPEX 2003.

In 2010, the Portuguese Post Office and the Portuguese Philatelic Federation will renew their century-old association by inviting all philatelists and stamp collectors, stamp dealers and everyone generally interested in philately throughout the world, to set aside a few days at the beginning of October to visit Portugal and contribute to the success of PORTUGAL 2010 – World Philatelic Exhibition.
