Guernsey Stamps announces the release of its stamp issue featuring the Blue Whale, the latest in its endangered species series.

The issue comprises a Miniature Sheet (£3.00) together with the Presentation Pack (£3.90) and First Day Cover (£4.20).

The Blue Whale is the seventh stamp issue in the endangered species series,  which features the Golden Snub-nosed Money (2004); the Basking Shark (2005); Florida Everglades (2006); Mount Gorilla (2007); the Amur Leopard (2009); and the Asian Elephant in 2010. All the previous issues are available to purchase in as part of an Endangered Species album.

The entire endangered species series, including the Blue Whale, has been illustrated by renowned wildlife artist Joel Kirk, whose pictures are sold around the world.

Dawn Gallienne, head of philatelic at Guernsey Stamps commented:- “Our endangered species series has always been popular and we wanted to celebrate the Blue Whale, a remarkable creature which is the largest animal ever known to have lived on earth.

“I am delighted that we have been able to offer these limited edition prints for sale, which complement the stamp products in the endangered species series beautifully.”
